About
The what, why, and who of it all
Hey, I’m Madeline and I’m here to help!
I work as a copy editor, cleaning up any grammatical and continuity errors in your text.
In a novel, I make sure your beginning and ending match up, your details are sound, and your work remains in your style. My feedback usually won’t call for any major rewrites, as I focus deeply on the individual word or line.
In a blog, I check for readability and flow of thought. It’s easy for a reader to get pulled out of the post over a misspelling or incorrect punctuation, or by rabbit trails. I’ll make sure the core of your story or the information you’re sharing remains on the main path.
I also have experience with websites, pamphlets, academic essays, poetry, creative nonfiction, emails, and resumes.
With a major in creative writing and a minor in professional writing and rhetorical analysis, I focused my education in English. It’s important to me to continue my learning through reading and editorial groups.
I love editing. The craft, the works I get to tidy up, and the ideas I get to help push forward into the light. I am here to help your work shine.

I’m currently writing my own medieval fantasy novel, started for NaNoWriMo 2020. I draw inspiration from authors such as Maggie Stiefvater, Ted Dekker, Rick Riordan, Elizabeth Bishop, and Bisco Hatori. My favorite books are Buffalo Gal, Seraphina, the Penderwicks, Starflight, and This is How You Lose the Time War. For art, I think I’m in love with too many creators to count.
